It's launch day for Lord of the Rings Online. Part of me wishes I could be there all day, and part of me is very happy that I'm home to play the game all day. Being the Lead User Interface Designer on the game was a life long dream, and well - I did it. The game is shipping - getting great reviews and press and now I'm back blogging and hanging out with the family for the foreseeable future. It's a very special day for my real life and a life that some people will be starting online today.
Here's a killer interview with Jeffery Steefel - who I miss daily:
Next up on the fantasy MMORPG launch pad is Turbine's The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, set to officially release tomorrow. This game has been in beta, both closed and open, for quite some time, and now everyone who didn't get a crack at it before will get a chance to hop in. We talked with Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel and Director of Communications Adam Mersky at Turbine, discussing higher level content, plans for expansion, and distribution in overseas markets.
